OSMOND — This year, St. Mary’s Catholic School instructor Sonja Kirchoff joined Amanda Koehler of the Osmond American Legion Auxiliary to speak with the students at St. Mary’s Catholic School. She collaborated with several teachers to promote several activities at the school.
Mrs. Kirchoff and fellow instructor Robin Cheney both have sons in the military and had their students write Americanism essays. On April 15, the students and staff wore purple to recognize military children.
Mrs. Kirchoff also collaborated with instructor Rebecca Geneski during her art classes to speak with the students about the American Legion Auxiliary and honoring the military and their families, past and present.
Mrs. Geneski’s art classes created poppy art to honor our fallen heroes, which is displayed at the senior citizen center in downtown Osmond, along with that of public school students’.
