The Plainview Farmers Market will open for the season on Wednesday, June 5, at Band Shell Park, two blocks north of Highway 20 on Main Street. The market will be open each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through Oct. 2. This year, the Plainview Farmers Market has been approved to accept SNAP/EBT Food Stamp Benefits.
A wide variety of items can be found each week including: fresh produce, farm-fresh eggs, jellies and jams, baked goods, craft items, Amish baskets and rugs, potted plants, lean beef products, etc.
The Plainview Farmers Market is observing its 10th anniversary, having served Plainview and the surrounding communities since 2014. It began with two vendors at the RC&D parking lot and has grown each year.
In 2019, it moved to the west side of Chilvers Park, and in 2022 moved to its current location at Band Shell Park in order to accommodate more vendors.
If you are interested in becoming a vendor or need more information about the Plainview Farmers Market, contact Market Manager, Dick Haskin at 402-847-3415.
