PIERCE — Michael Foods was named the 2024 Pierce County Fair Outstanding Supporter during ceremonies held Friday evening, July 26, at the Pierce County Fairgrounds Pavilion.
Pierce County Ag Society President Jim Herian said Michael Foods has been a financial sponsor of fair events for a number of years, and for the past three years, has sponsored a free omelet breakfast to the public.
Michael Foods came to Bloomfield in 1990, and to Plainview in 1994. During the last 30 years, the company has grown to 2.4 million cage-free laying hens and the capacity for 400,000 cage-free pullets in Plainview, producing liquid egg products for their customers.
Michael Foods is one of the largest employers in the area. They are continually researching opportunities to support agriculture and the surrounding communities.
