LINCOLN — Based on Sept. 1 conditions, Nebraska’s 2024 corn crop is forecast at 1.89 billion bushels, up 9% from last year’s production, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This would be a new record high production if realized. Area harvested for grain, at 9.70 million acres, is up 2% from a year ago. Average yield is forecast at 195 bushels per acre, up 13 bushels from last year. This would be a new record high yield if realized.
