Wagner, Vinson are Homecoming royalty

OSMOND – Homecoming 2024 was celebrated last week with a pep rally held on Friday, Oct. 4, in the Osmond Community School gym. The homecoming king and queen were announced during halftime of the Wausa-Osmond and Hartington-Newcastle football game.

OSMOND — Homecoming 2024 was celebrated last week with a pep rally held on Friday, Oct. 4, in the Osmond Community School gym. The homecoming king and queen were announced during halftime of the Wausa-Osmond and Hartington-Newcastle football game.

Chosen as the 2024 Homecoming queen was Erin Wagner, Jaxon Vinson was chosen king. They were crowned by last year’s royalty, Anna Kahny and James Doyle.

A number of games and relay races were held during the pep rally, including two spirited games of dodgeball — one between the students and the teachers, and the other between students and parents.

Also during the pep rally, winners of the hallway decorating contest and the dress-up days were announced. Winners of the hall decorating contest were the seniors. Winners in the dress-up days were: Western Day, Jaxon Vinson and Landon Oltjenbruns; 80’s Day, Trenton Wiseley, Ella von Rentzell and instructor Jennifer Wiseley; Workout Wednesday, Noah Geneski and Sophia Gansebom; Costume Day — Kaleb Gardner, Caleb Vinson, John Broekemeier, Kooper Gubbels and para Leah Knievel; Orange and Black, Keely Gubbels and Clara Steinkraus.

Winners in the upper and lower elementary dress-up days were: Western Day, Jaxson Miller and Merrick Aschoff; Color Day, Henley Marks and Harlow Gansebom; Workout Wednesday, Peyton Mauro and Olivia Schramm; Hawaiian Day, Elliot Kumm and Beckett Marks; Orange and Black Day, Amberlin Marks and Kyzr Rice.
