In the next game, Crofton played Plainview, with Plainview coming up with another tight scoring game win. In the third game of the morning, Osmond came up short yet again to Crofton.
Osmond's 3/4 graders then played Crofton with another heartbreak loss by 1 point. Wausa then beat Crofton next in another closely contested game. The last game of the day, Osmond played Wausa to come up just short again by 2 points.
"Had a great day of youth basketball," Coach Justin Koehler said. "A lot of close games where the boys can learn from going into the future. We finished
up the season this past Saturday for the 3/4 graders, after our Wausa League play in January, and a tournament in Verdigre a few weeks ago. Our 3/4 grad - ers played this season with only five boys until the last couple weeks, we got some help with second grader Lykn Rice after the boys were hit with the flu. The team of five boys are fourth grader Corbin Willard, and third graders Tripp Koehler, Braxton Stelling, Carter Gansebom, and Beckett Marks. Proud of their team play and willingness to learn the game." They are coached by Tyler Gansebom and Justin Koehler "The 5/6 graders have also battled some sickness over the course of the past month," Koehler continued. "They did really well in the Wausa League in January, finishing in the top spot for the year-end tournament, but were unable to keep up the momentum with players missing and sick, finishing in third place. Saturday didn’t go the way we wanted but we have another tournament set for this Saturday in Wayne with some really good competition, and another in Plainview on March 8."
