Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza detected in Dawson County

LINCOLN –The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA), in conjunc tion with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has detected a case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a backyard flock in Dawson County. This latest case brings the total number of Nebraska flocks impacted by HPAI to 4 backyard flocks affecting approx. 219 birds in 2025.
