Osmond hosts high school golf invitational

OSMOND — The 28th annual Osmond invitational was played at Rolling Hills golf club on Saturday, April 26. Thirteen teams and 65 players participated in 18 holes of stroke play. Weather again was a factor as cold temps and rain prevailed most of the day.

The Tigers did get a medal winner on the day. Sophomore Kooper Gubbels carded an 88 and finished in 15th place. Kooper had a rough opening nine, shooting a 48, and seemed to be out of contention. He came back strong on the back nine, shooting a 40, which tied for second low round of the back nine.

Freshman Dawson Gansebom keeps showing improvement as he shot his 9 hole best of 54 on the front and finished with a 115 total. Meagan and Erin Wagner both braved the conditions, shooting 127 and 136 respectively.

Ponca won the team title with a 338 total, followed by Wausa at runner-up. Toby Heine of Cedar Catholic won the individual title after a playoff, with a 79.
