Osmond Tigers 10U Open Season with 6–0 Shutout Over Winside

The Osmond Tigers 10U baseball team kicked off their 2025 season in dominant fashion with a 6–0 road win against Winside on May 14th.

The Tigers came out swinging in the top of the first. Carter Gansebom set the tone by getting on base after being hit by a pitch, followed by back-to-back singles from Jameson Koehler and Knox Koehler. Braxton Stelling then delivered the big hit of the inning, clearing the bases with a triple. Spencer Koehler added a single to cap off a four-run first frame, giving Osmond early momentum.

Jameson took the mound for the Tigers and set the pace defensively as well. He struck out two in the first inning and went on to record seven strikeouts over three scoreless innings, keeping Winside’s bats quiet throughout his outing.

Osmond added to their lead in the third inning. Carter led off again with a single, and Jameson followed with a two-run homer to right, pushing the score to 6–0. Axyl Rice chipped in with a single later in the inning, while Axton Stech added a base hit in the fourth, though no additional runs would be scored.

In relief, Spencer took over pitching duties for the final two innings and maintained the Tigers' dominance on the mound. He struck out four batters and helped seal the shutout win for Osmond. Axton and Tripp Koehler provided solid defense behind the plate on the day.

With strong performances on both sides of the ball, the Tigers start their season 1–0 and will look to carry their momentum into the next matchup.

Tigers Stay Hot in the Cold, Shut Out Neligh 4–0 at Home

Despite chilly temperatures dipping into the 40s, the Osmond Tigers 10U baseball team stayed red-hot on the field, earning their second straight shutout with a 4–0 victory over Neligh on May 21st.

Playing their home opener in front of a bundled-up crowd, Axyl Rice took the mound for the Tigers in the top of the first and was nearly untouchable. He struck out the first three batters he faced and went on to throw three perfect innings, racking up nine strikeouts and keeping Neligh off the bases entirely.

Carter and Jameson led off the bottom of the first with back-to-back hits before Axyl Rice drove in Carter with an RBI single. Axton followed with another base hit to bring Jameson home and give Osmond an early 2–0 lead.

Osmond threatened again in the second inning with hits from Tripp Koehler and Josiah Heilbrun, but Neligh managed to escape the jam. The Tigers extended their lead in the third, with Carter scoring his second run of the night on a sequence of hits from himself, Jameson, and Axyl.

Tripp Koehler came in to pitch the final two innings and delivered two more shutout frames, including a couple of strikeouts, securing the team’s second consecutive shutout victory.

The Tigers capped off their scoring in the fourth inning with solid contributions. Hits by Tripp, Corbin Willard, and Josiah Heilbrun brought in the fourth and final run of the night.

Also providing strong team sup- port and energy through the first two games have been Atlas Kelly and Dillon Jensen, contributing both in the dugout and on the field.

With the win, the Osmond Tigers improve to 2–0 on the young season, having yet to allow a run in their first two games. They'll look to keep the momentum going in their next matchups.
