GRAND ISLAND — Grand Island Little Theatre (GILT) has announced the summer show of the 20204-25 season, “Disaster!” a musical comedy by Jack Plotnick and Seth Rudetsky. Show dates are June 11-14 at 7:30 p.m. and June 15 at 2 p.m. at College Park Auditorium, 3180 West U.S. High 34 in Grand Island.
Eric and Jeri (Schreiber) Lorenz, both Osmond High School graduates, and daughter Ella are all members of the cast and crew of the musical. Eric plays the part of Tony in the musical. Jeri is one of the directors.
In “Disaster!,” earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos and unforgettable songs of the 70s take center stage in Broadway’s side-splitting homage to the classic disaster films. It’s 1979 and New York’s hottest A-listers are lining up for the opening of a floating casino and discotheque. What begins as a night of boogie fever changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters.
