OSMOND — A new/old business is open in Osmond!
Perfect Circle Irrigation has an nounced the opening of its new location at 202 North Main Street in Osmond — where Petersen & Son once had its business. Perfect Circle is taking over the Zimmatic sales and service dealership from Summit Contracting in the Norfolk area.
Owner Jon Zoucha commented, "This transition reflects our continued commitment to delivering exceptional service, innovative technology, and dependable support to growers throughout northeast Nebraska.”
Perfect Circle Irrigation Inc.,
founded in 2010, is family-owned and operated with three locations in central Nebraska: Sutton, Doniphan and Central City. Osmond now makes it four locations, and Zoucha said they plan to open one at Norfolk as well. The business has been recognized by Lindsay Corporation as the company's top North American Zimmatic dealer for four years running.
Zoucha and Chris Eischeid decided to take over the local dealership a couple of weeks ago when they found out Summit would be getting out of the irrigation business. “We just decided that the people around the Osmond area needed this back, because it's been here a long time. These farmers rely on these type of businesses, and they support these businesses.”
Beginning as a Lindsay Zimmatic irrigation dealer here in 1969, Petersen & Son later became Petersen Ag, which was purchased by Summit in December of 2023. They made the decision to close the Osmond location and move their employees to the Norfolk location in November of 2024. They then decided to get out of the irrigation business, which led to the Perfect Circle group opening the location here.
Jon is from Sutton, a small town with only 1,300 people, so he recognized that these businesses were good for the community.
Zoucha said, “As the No. 1 volume Zimmatic dealer in NorthAmerica, we are excited to expand our presence and bring industry-leading irrigation solutions to Osmond and the surrounding communities. We've built our business on high-quality service, fast response times, and long-lasting relationships with our valued customers. We're excited for the opportunity to serve the Osmond area and grow with this incredible community.”
In addition to owners Zoucha and Eischeid, there are six other employees. This includes John Halsey — who has been with the various businesses at this location for 45 years and who is in charge of sales; Jared Halsey, also with the business here for 20 years, in sales and service, and Jakob Meier, who has worked here for about four years, working in the service department.
Zoucha commented, "As I said, we have three other locations in Nebraska.
Small town values, that's what we're about. We want to take care of the people who've patronized this busi ness — the old business — for years. We want to get the business back, just get back to the roots.”
Although he lives in Sutton, Zoucha said he would be up here at least once a week to help run service calls. "I'm a service guy at heart!” he said.
Perfect Circle will hold a grand opening sometime in the near future.
