OSMOND — Members of the 1970 class from Osmond Community Schools met on Friday, June 20, for a reunion marking 55 years since their graduation. Their party was held at St. Mary’s Parish Center with more than 40 people attending, 25 being classmates.
The evening started with a social hour and visiting, followed by a catered meal from Jerry’s Hilltop. Special guests were Paul Poessnecker, 1970 business teacher and class sponsor, along with his wife, Gynell. Class sponsors Paul Poessnecker and Don Blecha have been invited to all the 1970 reunions.
Following the meal, class president Rod Erwin called the meeting to order. He started by telling some favorite stories about Roger Gray, a classmate who recently died.
A flower on each table honored their five deceased classmates: Randy Wecker, Jerry Nissen, Karen
Nelson Hughes, Connie Poellot Woolf and Roger Gray. Minutes from the last reunion in 2022 were read, along with the treasurer’s report. Main item of business was setting a date for the next reunion. Members voted to meet again in 2030 to mark the 60-year anniversary.
The rest of the evening was spent in socializing and reminiscing. Everyone had a wonderful time seeing friends that they haven’t seen for many years.
