Osmond hosts EPIC football camp

On Thursday, July 10, Osmond High School hosted a one-day high school EPIC football camp. Camp coordinators Jeremy Epp and Scott Trimble, along with Midland University football coaches, oversaw the camp and provided individual instruction for the student athletes. Teams participating included Wausa-Osmond, Pender, Homer, Mead, EPPJ, Stanton, High Plains, Osceola, Riverside, Niobrara/Verdigre, TCNE, and Arcadia Loup City. The day consisted of individual instructional time, sessions of pool play, and rapid fire competitions such as PAT try, 4th and 5 and 3rd and 10. With the weather that had moved in during the day, there was no tire flip competition this year. Teams can accumulate points throughout the competitions to determine an overall “Team of the Camp” winner. This year’s winner was the Mead Raiders. Individual awards were given out to players, voted on by the Midland University coaches who were present. Mac Carlson received the camp’s overall MVP award. Rogan Hoesing received the D lineman award, and Tate Stolpe repeated from last year as he was named the O lineman of the day again.
