PLAINVIEW — The 2025 12-and-under baseball team was a testament to dedication and commitment. With neighboring towns of Plainview and Osmond both being short on players, they decided to team up and represent as the Plainview Pirates.

Combining kids from different towns can bring some learning curves and challenges, but this group didn't let anything get in their way of playing a game they love. These boys showed with hard work, patience, dedication, and positivity that goals can be achieved. Their ability to adapt and commit helped drive success!

The Pirate Team showed up at the tournament last week seeded fifth out of 10 teams. Their first game was against O'Neill Green, where they set the tone for the tournament, winning 14-3 in 4 innings.

With a fall to Neligh in game 2, losing 7-5, the team wasn't about to give up. So in game 3, they heated up their bats, making it a win over Creighton, 12-1 in 3 innings.

The last day of the tournament brought back-to-back games, first defeating Elgin in game 4, 7-5. Next, the Pirates took on Atkinson B, securing another successful win of 22-12 in 3 innings to take them into the championship round. But in the final game of the tournament they lost again to Neligh, making this team of Pirates the tournament runners-up, taking home second place medals and trophy.

Thank you to all the coaches (Wade Frahm, Ward Frahm, and Monte

Miller) for being leaders on and off the field. To the parents who showed up to cheer the team on at games, got your player to practices, and committed to making this a great season for your boy...thank you! And to you players who gave it your all...here's to more success along the way!

This team has set the tone for how towns can work together and be successful. It's about showing up and making sure these kids are able to play the games they love!
