Solid Foundations
The exact details on the year, date and names of the original occupants are muddled. I’m sure with a little digging through the county records the mystery
could be solved, but no one has gone to that extreme so far.
Stories fictitious or otherwise, have been shared with us by people of
all pedigrees, ages and historical recollection. Our little cottage used to be a chicken coop and was moved in by an early Buchanan settler or so the story goes. Others have told us it was a hay barn, a smoke house, or an after hours drinking and gambling establishment. All interesting and entertaining I suppose; maybe all the above.
But whatever the facts are, the souls of family and friends (and possibly a few foes) that have crossed over the threshold are many. We have a happy
sorrow saying goodbye, but are overjoyed that the structure is staying in town.
And with high hopes and great expectations, new residents will find their own special peace in our little slice of heaven, called Osmond.
