PIERCE — As part of the Pierce County Fair awards presentation held Friday night, July 25, Keith and Marge Silhacek were honored as the Outstanding Fair Persons. The following was read during the presentation: Each year the fair board selects someone who has given outstanding dedication to the Pierce County Fair for a lengthy period to receive the Outstanding Fair Person Award. It’s always difficult to make this selection as there are so many people who are extremely dedicated to the Pierce County Fair.
This year the board has selected Keith and Marge Silhacek as the Outstanding Fair Persons for 2025. Their involvement in the fair began with their children’s 4-H projects. They served as superintendents of the small animal division from 1985 to 1991. They also helped with many other project areas. Shortly after that, they became grounds keepers and custodians of the buildings. There was a lot of mowing, bathroom cleaning (and repairing), garbage dumping and preparations for any building rentals throughout the year. Keith also became the PA guru and kept the sound system operating properly. Marge was always in headquarters doing anything that needed doing.
Keith served on the fair board from 1994 to 2022.
The Pierce County Agricultural Society and Fair Board are pleased to present this award to Keith and Marge Silhacek for their dedicated service to the Pierce County Fair.
Congratulations!
