Fair competition winners are announced

PIERCE — A number of competitions were held during the Pierce County Fair, which took place July 2-27. They included team roping, pedal pull, demolition derby, donkey polo, cornhole tournament, Outlaw truck and tractor pull and Double S Extreme bull riding. The winners are listed here.

BULL RIDING

The Double S Extreme Bull Riding was held on two nights — Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27. Maluki Anderson was the winner.

DONKEY POLO

The donkey polo games were held Saturday afternoon, July 26, at 4 p.m. in front of the grandstand. There were three teams, as well as a team of Pierce County Fair Board members.

Winning the competition was the team of Bergin Gossman, Drayden Gossman, Jackson Fischer and Dalton Ritterhaus. In second place was the team of Braeden Kment, Ethan Nordby, Christian Nordby, Cody Hoffman and Blake Foster. Coming in third was the Stepp Welding Team: Burkley Collisen, Extyn Anderson, Braxton Wachter and Travis Jensen.

PEDAL PULL

The pedal pull was held on Saturday, July 26, at 12 noon. The top three in each group qualify for the state fair. The top three in each of the age groups, in order, were as follows: 4-year-old girls — Sage Clark, Anna Venteicher, Shaylee Thayer 4-year-old boys — Owen Berner, Cathan Magdanz, Warren Kraft 5-year-old girls — Hayden Stepp, Shiloh Codr, Emmalynn Kuhl 5-year-old boys — Easton Patterson, Grason Koehler, Caden Berner 6-year-old girls — Harper Hoskins, Nelli Zautke, Renn Clark 6-year-old boys — Colter Thayer, Barrett Cleveland, Kip Venteicher 7- year- old girls — Brecklyn Koehler, Kenley Venteicher, Olivia Zautke 7-year-old boys — Joer Scheurich, Coy Suehl, Dalgy Hansen 8-year-old girls — Ryley Kuhl, Oakly Suehl, Rylee Siebrandt 8-year-old boys — Bentlen Hoskinson, Kyler Cleveland, Grayson Wolken 9-year-old girls — Kinsley Wilson, Harmony Zautke, Adley Venteicher 9-year-old boys — Ryken Stepp, Creighton Van Schoiack, Xavier Morfeld 10-year-old girls — Harper Spiering, Kaydens Doerr 11-year-old girls — Anna Elsberry 12-year-old boys — Trevin Suckstorf CORNHOLE

The cornhole tournament was held on Sunday, July 27, at 12:30 p.m. There were five teams in this first Pierce County fair tournament.

Prize winnings in each placing were: first, $250; second $150; third, $100; fourth, $50; fifth, $20.

Winning first place was the team of Kelly Anderson of Norfolk and Melony Arehart of Neligh. In second place was the team of Carlie and Dan Kleinschmit of Wausa. Taking third was the team of Nate Carstens of Pierce and Shane Anderson of Norfolk. Gabe Hammer of Pierce and Chad Hammer of Wausa were in fourth place, and Kohen Lingenfelter and Wyatt Schroth, both of Plainview, took fifth.

DEMOLITION DERBY

The demolition derby was held on Friday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. Placings in each of the categories were: Pickups — First, Brandon Kilcoin; second, Matt Sackville; third, Parker Sackville; fourth, Sam Kallhoff; fifth, Vincent Kallhoff; Mad Dog, Brandon Kilcoin Limited Weld — First, Ben Oltmer; second, Parker Sackville; third, Matt Sackville; Mad Dog, Matt Sackville Mini Vans — First, Brandon Kilcoin; second, Matt Sackville; third, Parker Sackville; fourth, Jason Claussen; Mad Dog, Jason Claussen Bonestock — First, Mark Calahan; second, Cohen Calahan; third, Layne Forney; fourth, Nate Deterding; fifth, Cody Dernbeck; Mad Dog, Layne Forney Compact Bonestock #1 — First, Kole Keller; second, Carter Dietrich; third, Brock Carlson; fourth, Parker Sackville; fifth, Matt Sackville; Mad Dog, Matt Sackville Compact Bonestock #2 — First, Dylan Sky; second, Vincent Kahlhoff; third, Logan Dougherty; fourth, Jamie Sackville; fifth, Toby Sond; Mad Dog, Vincent Kallhoff Youth — First, Xander Braband; second, Bryson Linstrom; Mad Dog, Bryson Linstrom TEAM ROPING

Team roping was held Wednesday, July 23, at 5 p.m.
