LINCOLN – “Backyard Farmer” will record a live episode at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island on Monday, Aug. 25.
Nebraska Public Media welcomes the public to this free event located in the Raising Nebraska Building, starting with a question-and-answer panel at 4:15 p.m. CT and live recording at 5 p.m. CT.
Join show host Kim Todd, Nebraska Extension landscape horticulture specialist, alongside other professionals to talk about all things related to garden and lawn care.
Nebraska Extension experts on the panel include Kaitlin Chapman, urban entomology educator; Terri James, agronomy and horticulture educator; Amy Timmerman, cropping systems educator and Elizabeth Exstrom, a horticulture, landscape and environmental systems educator.
The discussion will feature a special segment on the Husker practice field's turf renovations, a collaborative project between Extension's turfgrass department and athletic field managers to install new turfgrass.
This program will air on television at 7 p.m. CT, Thursday, Aug. 28 on Nebraska Public Media.
“Backyard Farmer,” the longest-running locally produced television series in the nation, airs on Nebraska Public Media Thursdays at 7 p.m. CT through Sept. 11. It repeats Saturdays at 10 a.m. CT on Nebraska Public Media and at 4 p.m. CT Sundays and 5 p.m. CT Mondays on Create.
