PIERCE - Members of P.E.O. Ch BE worked together Aug. 26 and 27 to advance its scholarship fund. Turning the task into a social activity helped make the work enjoyable.

Over two days, 13 members came together to make cheese balls to be sold as a fundraiser for scholarships for women. Now that the tailgating season is well underway and the holidays are approaching Chapter BE thought this would be a fun project. The cheese balls will be available at the Pierce County Threshing Bee.

Locally, Chapter BE offers three scholarships of $500 each to graduating senior girls from Pierce and Osmond high schools. The local scholarship applications and presentations are in the spring of the year.

International P.E.O. Projects, which include grants, loans, and scholarships can be accessed year-round. Through the six philanthropies and its' Foundation International, P.E.O. has helped 129,000 women with $462 million in educational assistance.

If you are or know a woman who is engaged in a technical or certification program or is enrolled in college and in need of financial aid, P.E.O. may be able to help. Contact Chapter BE at this email, [email protected]. A member will respond to your inquiry. — Reporter
