LINCOLN Nebraska Public Media is bringing back a favorite radio personality and a favorite music series.
Beginning Friday, Sept. 5, Lora Black will return to the public media air - waves to host "Nebraska Concerts" each Friday at 11 a.m. CT, on the network's News/Classical radio channel. The series will immediately follow “Friday
LIVE," the network's weekly arts and humanities program.

Her legacy in broadcasting and expertise in classical music align well with the excellent performances from local artists presented on 'Nebraska Concerts,'" said Cathy Bradberry, radio network director for Nebraska Public Media.
Featuring music performed and recorded in Nebraska, the new season of "Nebraska Concerts" will air Fridays through May 2026.
On the Sept. 5 show, the Omaha Symphony, with conductor Ankush Kumar Bahl, presents music including John Stafford Smith’s arrangement of “The Star-Spangled Banner” which was recorded in Sept. 2024 at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha.
The first "Nebraska Concerts" show also features three other pieces that were all recorded in Oct. 2024 in the Witherspoon Concert Hall at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha. They include "Overture to 'L'Italiano in Algeri'" by Italian composer Giaochino Rossin; Italian composer and conductor Giovanni Bottesini’s “Concerto No. 2 in B minor for Double Bass Orchestra,” with Nate Olson playing the double bass; and Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 8 in F Major, Op. 83.”
