(By Coach Kerri Conn) The Tiger cross country team has worked hard over the summer and they have been preparing for meets during the first three weeks of practice.
Hartington-Newcastle meet They went to the first meet of the 2025 season in Hartington at the Hartington Country Club on Aug. 28, running a 5K race.
The Tigers ran well for their first meet of the season. Two Tigers medalled, along with the other three
runners racing to the finish with good times.
Medalists were Mason True, 10th place, running 20:24 and Jack Berg, 13th place, running 20:38.
Other Tigers participating were Donovan Heiman running 23:36, Trenton Wiseley running 23:12 and Deanna Kumm running 28:59.
Niobrara-Verdigre meet The Tiger cross country team headed to Niobrara State Park on Sept. 4 for the Niobrara-Verdigre invitational. The runners had a cooler
day to embark on a new path with a few hills.
The Tigers again ran well, coming home with four medals, along with the boys' team finishing in third place.
Medal winners were: Mason True, sixth place, running 20:35; Jack Berg, eighth place, running 21:13; Donovan Heiman, 16th place, running 22:15; Deanna Kumm, 11th place, running 29:44.
Also participating was Trenton Wiseley, just missing out on a medal, running 23:06.
The Tigers next travel to Norfolk on
Sept. 12 to run at the Norfolk Catholic Invite at Skyview Lake.
