District 2 Legion Auxiliary round-up held here

OSMOND — The American Legion Auxiliary District 2 Fall Roundup was held in Osmond on Sunday, Oct. 5, at the city auditorium. With a focus on 250th year of the United States to be observed in July 2026, history was shared about the country.

The District 2 Roundup speaker was Loan Eby, assisted by Iris Sutton. They shared information on the Nebraska for Founders Values. The NFFV helps Nebraskans keep a watchful eye on various issues within the state. They alert auxiliary members about proposed legislation that strengthens or weakens one’s rights for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and share options.

The group was alerted to the Nebraska Blue Book, the official reference manual on state government, geography, economy, history, and culture. Copies are available at Nebraskalegislation.gov.

After the program, the Legion and Auxiliary members met separately for their business meetings with updates on various activities such as Boys’ State and Girls’ State, 2026 Americanism essay topic, etc..

The annual mid-year conference will be at Divots Jan. 17-18, 2026, with the spring convention being at Elkhorn Valley Bank, 404 South 25th Street in Norfolk on March 15, 2026.
