LINCOLN - During the month of September 2025, 23 people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
These 23 fatalities occurred in 21 fatal crashes.
Nine of the 20 vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, six were using a seatbelt, and five had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
Sixteen of the fatalities were in rural locations*
There were zero fatalities on the interstate, 11 on other highways, and
12 on local roads.
Two of the fatalities were pedestrians.
One of the fatalities was a motorcyclist.
