Ghosts, goblins. . . and chickens

Ghosts, goblins. . . and chickens

A wide variety of costumes were evident throughout the community on both Thursday and Friday of last week. Because the Wausa-Osmond Vikings were scheduled to play in the second round of football playoffs on Friday, there was no school that day, so the elementary grades held their downtown Halloween parade on Thursday. The kindergarten through third grade students walked down from school at 12:30 p.m. and received their treats on both sides of the street, from Fifth Street all the way down to the highway. The Tigers and Friends Childcare children did their trick-or-treating on Thursday as well. It was a good call, as the weather was much nicer that day than it was on Friday, Halloween night. The weather Friday was windy, chilly and wet, but that didn’t deter the little “ghosts and goblins” from making their rounds. In top photo, Tigers and Friends stopped at the Osmond Senior Center for some treats. Above left, several “blow-up” costumes could be seen up and down the sidewalk during the Halloween parade. Above right, Skyla and Julian Vogel were trick-or-treating Friday night. See more Halloween pictures on Page 5 of this issue.
