(By Coach Leonard Risinger) After the winter break, the Plainview-Osmond Pirate bowling teams resumed competitions on Tuesday, Jan. 6, against the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs at Main Street Alley in Osmond.
Lady Pirates
Starting off with the Lady Pirates, they tried their best, but the Lady Bulldogs won the first game 647-569, taking 7 of the 8 points. The second game was like the first, with the Lady Bulldogs winning 634-573 and taking 6 of the 8 points.
After two games, the Lady Bulldogs had won the match 13-3 but there was still the need for the baker’s game for the last 5 points. The Lady Bulldogs won that 147100 too, winning the match 18-3.
Leading the Lady Pirates with high scores was Lucea Miller with a 136 and Nyome Harding with a 128. Winning her point in the first game was Nyome Harding. The second game high score was Natalee Gatz with a 130 and Nyome Harding with a 129. Nyome Harding won her point in the second game and Meagan Wagner won her point as well. The Lady Pirates are now 1-9 on the season.
Pirates
The Pirates were going to have a tough time with one of the better bowlers missing that day, but that meant everyone would need to help in any way possible. The Bulldogs took game one 851-630 and took 7 out of 8 points.
The second game was more of the first with the Bulldogs winning 919-660 and taking 7 out of the 8 points again. After the two regular games, the Bulldogs won the match 14-2 but the teams needed to still award the 5 points for baker’s games. The Bulldogs won that as well with a score of 157-106. Final score was 19-2 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Leading the Pirates was Aiden Kemnitz with a score of 198 and Jaren Hergert with a 157. Winning their point was Jaren Hergert in game one. The second game high scores went to Aiden with a 214 and Donovan Heiman with a 166. Winning their point was Donovan Heiman in game two. The Pirates are 2-9 on the season.
