(By Coach Bradley Wright) The Osmond Lady Tigers came out of the holiday break with a busy schedule to start off the new year. Osmond traveled to Winnebago on Tuesday, Jan. 6, and then participated in the Wausa Post-Holiday Tournament on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 8 and 9.
Osmond vs. Winnebago
The game on Tuesday saw the Winnebago Indians come out to a fast start as they scored 19 and 22 points a quarter in the first half compared to Osmond’s 9 total points scored.
Winnebago’s defensive pressure and fast style of play offensively proved to be too much for the Tigers to ever get a good rhythm for the game.
Winnebago would go on to win by a final score of 60-12. Kaleigh Miller led the Tigers with 4 points and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Score by Quarter Osmond 5 4 1 2 = 12 Winnebago 19 22 11 8 = 60 BOX SCORE

On Thursday, the Lady Tigers traveled to Wausa to challenge the host team Wausa Vikings in the first matchup of the Wausa Post-Holiday Tournament.
After one quarter of play, Wausa held a 7-point advantage, leading 13-6. Foul trouble in the second quarter put a hinder on the Tigers’ performance as Wausa built their lead going into the halftime break up 33-9.
The second half played out very evenly as Wausa outscored Osmond by only 2 points, 25-23. The host Vikings would claim the victory by a 58-32 final score.
Korrine Moes made a strong imprint in this game, leading all scorers with 19 points; she also grabbed 7 rebounds in the effort. Carrie Kumm and Kaleigh Miller both pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds. Score by Quarter Osmond 6 3 7 16 = 32 Wausa 13 20 12 13 = 58 BOX SCORE

Brown 2 7 0 0 1 Friday’s matchup against the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars saw the Tigers compete very well against a very good team and score a seasonhigh 41 points in the contest. Like Osmond, Niobrara/Verdigre is short on numbers as they only have 9 girls out this season.
Even though Niobrara/Verdigre held a 32-14 halftime advantage, the Tigers' efforts to finish the game strong found them outscoring the Cougars in the second half 27-23.
Kaleigh Miller got back on track, recording another double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds in the contest. Korrine Moes reached double digits, scoring in back-to-back nights finishing with 11 to bring her Post-Holiday Tournament total to 30 points in the two games.
