Webinar set to discuss rotational grazing

LYONS - Farmers and ranch ers interested in learning more about rotational grazing are invited to a free online webinar hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs.

The virtual event is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, from 1 to 2 p.m.

“Farmers and ranchers who have prioritized grassland habitat and conservation on their operations will gain a lot from this session,” said Andrew Tonnies, policy associate with the Center. “Learning from another producer who has implemented creative practices that make sense on their land can help others take on that learning curve.”

Nebraska Conservation Men - torship Network members Ron Bolz of Chadron, Homer Buell of Bassett, Dan Stelling of Pierce, and Chris Trumler of Rockville will share the ins and outs of grazing practices and be available for questions.

“Every farm is different, and one type of grazing isn’t going to be appropriate in every situation,” Tonnies said. “Our network of mentors can offer advice on creative ways to gain the benefits of grazing where it makes sense or things to think about when designing and building livestock infrastructure.”

Registration is required by Monday, Jan. 26. Register at cfra. org/GrazingWebinar.
