(By Coach Bradley Wright) The Osmond Lady Tigers were busy again playing three games throughout last week.
Tigers vs. Panthers
NEWMAN GROVE — On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Tigers traveled to Newman Grove to take on the NG/ SE Panthers. NG/SE got the first score of the game but then Osmond responded with 6 straight unanswered points until NG/SE went on a 6-0 run of their own to close out the first quarter leading 8-6.
NG/SE continued to build their lead until Osmond responded late in the half to close the margin 15-19 going into the halftime break. Osmond came out strong to start the third quarter and took a 21-19 lead. But then NG/SE responded and took the lead and the Lady Tigers couldn’t close the gap to regain the lead again. Final score favored NG/SE 43-23.
Despite the loss, Osmond had great contributions from Korrine Moes who finished with 13 points, Carrie Kumm who finished with a team-high 14 rebounds, and Kaleigh Miller who posted a double-double again finish - ing with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

STUART - On Thursday, Jan. 15, Osmond took to the road to face the Stuart Broncos. Osmond struggled to find a rhythm offensively and battled foul trouble throughout the entire game. Stuart would go on to claim the victory by a final score of 48-25.
Korrine Moes put together a solid performance, finishing with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Carrie Kumm would grab 10 boards and dish out 4 assists, both team highs in the game. Score by Quarter Osmond 5 12 2 6 = 25 Stuart 9 14 11 14 = 48

OSMOND — On Saturday, Jan.
17, the Tigers were glad to finally be back on their home court playing an afternoon contest with the Wakefield Trojans. Osmond took advantage of being on their home court right away and started the game strong, leading by two points after the first quarter, up 10-8.
Wakefield would flip the script and use a strong quarter of their own in the second, doubling Osmond’s points in the quarter 18-9 to take a 26-19 lead going into the locker rooms halfway through the game.
Wakefield would build their lead in the third quarter by as much as 15 points, at one point up 41-26 before Osmond made a strong response and
late to close the margin 41-32 going into the final quarter of play.
Osmond continued to ride that momentum through the fourth quarter as they closed the gap to only two points later before Wakefield would knock down free throws to seal the 50-46 victory.
It was a tough loss for the Tigers but they showed that they can compete until the very end. Despite fouling out, Kaleigh Miller posted a huge contribution to the Tiger’s efforts; she finished with 17 points, 18 rebounds, and 2 blocks, all team highs. Korrine Moes’performance during the contest was big for the home team as well as she earned another double-double on the season, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Score by Quarter

The Tigers take to the road for all three of their games this week, traveling to Winside on Tuesday, O’Neill St. Mary’s on Friday, and Irene, SD, on Saturday morning to face Viborg/ Hurley in the Blizzard Buster Classic.
