(By Coach Matthew Chambers) The Plainview-Osmond Lady Pirate wrestlers competed at the Ord Invitational on Thursday, Jan. 15, and then hosted their own invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Ord Invite Overall, the girls really came out ready to wrestle. We were able to put together some good matches in the middle and late rounds of the tournament to put us in a good position as a team.
It was a really fun atmosphere and watching how the girls responded after letting a couple teams past us last week was good to see. The team race was really tight with about five teams alternating in and out of the top spot the last two rounds.
I liked how the girls came out and competed in that environment. Tournaments like this and the individual matches we had make us better as individuals and as a team.

We are wrestling pretty well as a group and we are going to continue to make improvements for the final push going into districts. The girls are excited to have been runner up the last two tournaments but they are motivated to keep improving after seeing how close to some of the top teams and individual wrestlers at certain weights we are to.
