OSMOND — St. Mary’s School will observe Catholic Schools Week beginning with a Mass on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Kevin Vogel as celebrant. There is a movie theme for the observance this year, which continues through Jan. 30.
After the opening Mass, activities will move to St. Mary’s Parish Center in the school basement where lunch will be provided by St. Mary’s Association Representing Teachers and Students (SMARTS).
Special activities are planned for Monday through Friday.
Monday, Jan. 26 – Be a Hero of Kindness. Students will do a community service project. They may dress as their favorite superhero.
Tuesday, Jan. 27 – Cozy Up With God. Students will bring PJ’s to wear after Mass, and will travel to Norfolk to watch the move, “David.”
Wednesday, Jan. 28 – Shining Together in God’s Light. Students will play teacher trivia. Students will dress in class color: Pre-K and kindergarten, blue; first and second, green; fourth, yellow; fifth and sixth, red; seventh and eighth, orange.
Thursday, Jan. 29 – United in Faith and Freedom. There will be a patriotic rosary. Students will dress in red, white and blue.
Friday, Jan. 30 – Lights, Camera, Action. There will be a talent show and pizza party. Students will dress as their favorite movie character.
