(By Coach Bradley Wright) WYNOT — Osmond’s postseason play started on Monday, Feb. 16, in Wynot.
Osmond vs. Randolph The Lady Tigers faced off against Randolph in first-round action of subdistricts. After the first quarter of play, both teams were knotted up at 9 all. Osmond used a strong second quarter to build a lead at 23-18 heading into the locker rooms.
Both teams traded baskets in the third quarter, with each team scoring 11 points. Osmond held the 34-29 lead going into the final quarter. Determined to keep their season going, the Tigers were able to hold off a late rally by Randolph and came away victorious via a 49-40 final score. Korrine Moes led the scoring for Osmond with 18 points. Seniors Kaleigh Miller and Abi Brown both recorded double-doubles in the game. Miller finished with 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Brown had a breakout game, adding her own 12 points and 16 rebounds. Score by Quarter Osmond 9 14 11 15 = 49 Randolph 9 9 11 11 = 40

Brown 12 16 1 1 1 Osmond vs. Wynot With the win, Osmond then faced host team Wynot on Tuesday. A competitive first quarter had Osmond trailing Wynot at a manageable margin, 7-15. However, a strong second quarter by Wynot where they exploded for 27 points put Wynot in complete control of the game as they led 42-13 at halftime.
Osmond was able to respond, coming out of the locker room and cutting into the Blue Devil lead, but still trailed 53-26. Wynot showed how deserving they were to have the #1 seed in the subdistrict as they were able to win by a final score of 65-34. Kaleigh Miller closed out her career with one last double-double, her 16th of the season, as she finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Even though the season ended, the senior was able to secure her name in the record books during the game. Miller finished with 302 total rebounds and 71 blocks on the season; both are new school records.
The loss ended Osmond’s season with a final record of four wins and 20 losses.
