BOARD OF EQUALIZATION PROCEEDINGS

February 17, 2026 The Pierce County Board of Equalization met pursuant to adjournment on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. with the fol - lowing members present: John Steinkraus, Brad Albers and Carl Martinson. Co. As - sessor Jean Lubke, Co. Clerk Shannon Wragge, Co. Sheriff Rick Eberhardt, Heidi Borg, Mike Mayfield, Matthew Jones and Samantha Nisbet were present.

Notice of the meeting was given in advance as shown by the Certificate of Publication on file in the County Clerk's office. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice of the meeting. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public. Chairman Albers called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and presided. Chairman Albers stated that the Open Meetings Act is posted on the north wall of the board room with more copies available at the County Clerk's office.

Motion by Steinkraus, seconded by Albers, to approve the agenda. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martin -

son. Nay: None. Motion carried.

The minutes of February 2, 2026, were approved as printed.

No Tax List Corrections or Demands for Refund.

There being no further business, Chair- man Albers adjourned the meeting at 9:03 a.m. and will meet again at a regular meeting on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. as County Board of Equalization, said meeting is open to the public. An agenda for such meeting, kept continuously cur rent, is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk.

porter Randee Falter were present.

Heidi Borg with Congressman Adrian Smith's office was present to give an update to the County Board.

Motion by Steinkraus, seconded by Albers, to Approve Resolution #2026-3 as follows:

RESOLUTION # 2026 - 3

WHEREAS, the Board of Commission- ers of Pierce County, Nebraska, pursuant to Nebraska Statute, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Pierce County, Nebraska; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that a Pierce County Local Emergency Operations Plan has been developed in order to provide for a coordinated response to a disaster or emergency in Pierce County, the City of Pierce and other cities and vil- lages in Pierce County; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Pierce County, deems it advisable and in the best interest of Pierce County to approve said Local Emergency Opera- tions Plan;

WHEREAS, the acceptance of this 2026 Local Emergency Operations Plan supersedes all previous approved Pierce County Local Emergency Operations Plans; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Pierce County, Nebraska, that the Pierce County Local Emergency Operations Plan be, and hereby is, approved.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to recommend approval to the NE Liquor Control Commission for the request for a designated liquor license for Bohemian One Stop, Verdigre, for an event at the Pierce Pavilion on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to recommend approval to the NE Liquor Control Commission for the request for a designated liquor license for The White House/Taylormade Catering, Pierce, for an event at the Pierce Pavilion on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to recommend approval to the NE Liquor Control Commission for the request for a designated liquor license for the Pierce American Legion Tomek Post 72 for an event at the Pierce Pavilion on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

with Nextera, solar farm, were present to ask the Board if they had any questions or concerns on the project.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to approve the 2025 Jail Standards Report; fee reports as submitted by Vickie Prince, Clerk of District Court and Shannon Wragge, County Clerk for Janu - ary 2026; approve Treasurer's receipts for various funds for Christine Bahr, County Treasurer, for January 2026 and placed on file in the County Clerk's office, total $3,014,022.52 and to audit and allow the following claims presented for payment and instructed the County Clerk to issue checks for payment of same on the various funds. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.
