OMAHA — This past weekend, Osmond-Wausa sent two wrestlers to state — Kaleb Gardner at 157 lbs. and Caleb Vinson at 144 lbs.
Both wrestlers wrestled hard with Caleb Vinson falling back after a first round loss, and finding a way to win one, but ultimately falling out of the tournament after losing his next match. Coach Nathan Vinson was very proud of how Vinson battled all season to qualify for the state tournament and finish with a strong season. While Kaleb Gardner won his first
two matches to get within a medal, he fell ultimately short in the semifinal for
the first place. He again fell short for the third-place medal round to fall back
for fifth and sixth. Gardner was able to pick up the fifth-place medal and earned himself a spot on the podium.
Overall, Coach Vinson was very proud of how both wrestlers showed up at state and overall how they wrestled throughout the season and will be looking for good things next year with both qualifiers returning!
