Kruse, Wattier, Aschoff file for city council

OSMOND - With the both filing deadline for political office now past, several more candidates have filed for office, including three new candidates for Osmond City Council.

Neil Wattier had previously filed for reelection to the council, while Dan Timmerman decided not to run. Dan had commented that there are plenty of younger people in Osmond who would make great candidates — and several have stepped up.

Tom Kruse, Amy Wattier and John R. Aschoff have all filed as candidates for city council. In a vote for two situation, there are now four candidates running for office.

All three incumbents — Justin Koehler, Tiffany Rice and Tyler Gansebom - have filed for reelection to the Osmond school board. Several other new candidates have filed for election in Pierce County: Larry Lockman and Brian Schlote for Plainview mayor, Kevin Weber and Tom Krause for Plainview school board, and Jay Meier for Pierce school board.

The last day for incumbents to file for the General Election is July 15; for new filers, the date is Aug. 3. More information about the 2026 election is available on the Pierce County website, www.co.pierce.ne.us.
