(By Coach Bradley Wright) OSMOND — The Osmond Lady Tigers basketball team had six healthy girls start the season back in November. Most teams lose student athletes as the season progresses. The Tigers actually gained numbers throughout the season as they finished with eight girls suiting up at the end of the season.

Seniors on this year’s team included: Abi Brown, Piper Hoffman, Carriana Kumm, and Kaleigh Miller. The lone junior wasAddison Miller. The sophomore class was represented by Korrine Moes. And the freshman class this year making their high school debut on the hardwood this season consisted of Sunny Geneski and Katarina Miller.

With low numbers, Osmond did not play any junior varsity games this season. The low numbers made the Tigers be conscientious about not fouling; however, fouls were an issue throughout the season and even forced the team to play almost an entire fourth quarter, 4 against 5, due to players fouling out during the game.

Osmond showed a lot of growth and improvement throughout the season, which is the goal for every coach, and finished the final nine games with a 4-5 record. The Tigers finished with a 4-20 record as they again played a tough and challenging schedule that consisted of five teams that ended up playing for a district championship.

Individual Stats: Korrine Moes: 275 points, 24 offensive rebounds, 142 defensive rebounds, 166 total rebounds, 30 assists, 37 steals, and 20 blocks.

Sunny Geneski: 9 points, 6 offensive rebounds, 18 defensive rebounds, 24 total rebounds, 3 assists, 12 steals, and 1 block.

Kaleigh Miller: 295 points, 161 offensive rebounds, 141 defensive rebounds, 302 total rebounds, 37 assists, 40 steals, and 71 blocks.
