NORFOLK — Weather permitting, work will begin March 23 on Nebraska Highway 12 (N-12), from Ponca to U.S. Highway 20 (US-20), from reference post 233 to reference post 244, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Constructors, Inc., of Lincoln, is the contractor for this project. The bridge over Aowa Creek (reference post 234.27) will be replaced in two phases, with two-way traffic maintained on 11-foot wide lanes. The remaining work of bridge rehabilitation, asphalt paving, street lighting, and culverts will be performed utilizing one-way traffic with flaggers or temporary traffic signals.
Anticipated completion is June 2027.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
