WAYNE — The District Speech Meet was held at Wayne High School on Monday, March 16. Wayne was the host for the B-3, D1-3, and D2-2 districts. The schools in the D2-2 District were: Elgin, High Plains Community, Newman Grove, Niobrara, Osmond, Scribner-Snyder, St. Edward, O’Neill St. Mary’s, Verdigre.
Osmond was the D2-2 champion with 276 points, followed by O’Neill St. Mary’s with 194, High Plains Community with 146, and Elgin with 140 points.
The top three finishers in each event qualified for the state speech meet in Kearney on Saturday, March 28. Osmond had 10 entries qualify for the state meet.
