OSMOND — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 326 met Monday, March 16, at the Osmond Senior Center. The Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer were recited. There were six members answering roll call.
Americanism essays by Osmond High School and St. Mary’s students were judged by auxiliary members. Winners of the contest will be awarded cash prizes. Unfortunately, because of the weather and school cancellation, the auxiliary was not able to host the students and their parents on the day of the meeting, so Diane Borst was to present prizes to the students at their schools.
Michelle Reikofski reported that Ashlyn Spangler will represent the Osmond auxiliary unit at Girl’s State. Alexa Aschoff is the alternate. The auxiliary congratulates both students.
Wednesday, March 18, was set for the Sons of the American Legion to host a luncheon buffet at 3rd Street Bar and Grill, with Norfolk Veterans Home residents as the honor guests. All auxiliary members are also invited.
On Friday, April 10, the auxiliary will assist Osmond veterans with bingo at the Norfolk Veterans Home at 1:30 p.m. The auxiliary will provide cookies and prizes. — Barb Rohde
