OSMOND — Pfanny’s Farm, which has been in operation for 13 years at their location 2.5 miles north of the Highway 81-20 junction, recently announced the winner of their 2024 Hero at Heart Award. This is an award they have been presenting for five years.
Gene and Julie Pfanstiel, owners of Pfanny’s Farm, said, “Social media and our news sources are so full of negative vibes that we decided to do something about it.
We asked our tribe to nominate someone who makes the world a better place through their thoughtfulness, good deeds or volunteerism.”
This year’s Hero at Heart award winner is Missy Hoppe of Osmond. Last Monday, Feb. 12, Gene presented Missy the award.
Here are a few words from her anonymous nomination: “Missy is always ready, willing, and able to help with any local or area project, small or large, and comes at the beginning and stays till the end. She has shown up to help when the flood hit Osmond and chaired many groups, is a very active member of the local EMT’s, was ready and served on many committees when the local grocery store was destroyed by fire, and is always available when members of the community need assistance. Missy is a very hard worker and is a “go-to” person in time of need. If you need something, her name always comes up and she knows what to do or who to contact to get the job done. Missy never expects anything in return and always give 110%!”
The Pfanstiels commented, “Congratulations Missy! May we all learn from you and help make our world a better place as well!”
