(By Coach Dante Schmit) PLAINVIEW — Osmond golfers Kooper Gubbels, Dawson Gansebom, Meagan Wagner, and Nickolas Kumm represented their team at a quad meet held Monday, April 6, in Plainview, turning in a range of performances as they continue to build experience early in the season.
Gubbels led the group with a solid round of 40, showcasing consistency and control throughout the course. Gansebom followed with a 51, while Wagner carded a 61. Kumm rounded out the scoring for the team with a 77.
Later in the week, the golfers returned to Plainview for a weekend competition on Saturday, April 11, when both Gubbels and Gansebom competed again. Gubbels improved on his earlier showing, posting an 81 and earning a seventh-place finish in the tournament standings. Gansebom faced a tougher round, finishing with a score of 119.
These events provided valuable course time and competitive experience for the athletes as they continue their season. Gubbels' top-10 finish highlights his strong start, while the rest of the team looks to build on their performances in upcoming meets at Crofton on Monday, Rolling Hills on Tuesday, and Laurel on Thursday.
With continued practice and competition, the group aims to lower scores and climb the leaderboard as the season progresses.
