OSMOND — Junior high and high school students from Osmond showcased their creativity and technical skills at the Lewis & Clark Conference Art Show, featuring a diverse collection of paintings, sculptures, and digital media.

The exhibition, held at Wayne State College March 26-30, featured works from 11 schools. The show highlighted various artistic disciplines, including 3D sculpture, photography, and traditional drawing. This year’s collection featured a strong focus on acrylic painting and pencil drawings.

Jessica Evans, art educator at Osmond, noted the high level of ambition in this year’s submissions. “Our artists amaze our school community with their skill, talent, and commitment,” Evans said.

For many students, this exhibition served as validation of their passion. “Having people acknowledge my art is very rewarding,” said senior Abigail Brown. Abigail’s painting on the bottom of a skateboard deck was recognized as honorable mention best of category in the miscellaneous division. Abigail was also recognized as the outstanding artist from Osmond High School in the Lewis & Clark Conference Art Show.

Other high school students exhibiting work included Erin Aschoff, Rachel Kuehler, Dawson Gansebom, Jack Berg, Meagan Wagner, Jesse Jensen, Jade Halsey, Piper Hoffman, Ava Reikofski, Delilah Koehler, Ashlyn Spangler, Riley Williams, Carriana Kumm, and Easton Steinkraus.

Alongside the high school students, several junior high students also exhibited art at the conference show. Eighth graders Alyvia Koehler, William Crosby, Gage Krienert, Aubree Erickson, Ashlynn Riley, Kaylee Bahr, Alex Fritz, Kayleigh Bolz, Sierra Koehler, and Ally Dahlin each submitted their work.

Eighth grader Sierra Koehler received best of category in the junior high pencil division for her self-portrait.

The final art show for the year will be held at the Antelope County Fairgrounds in Neligh April 8-13.
