(By Coach Dante Schmit) The past week proved to be a busy and productive stretch for the team, competing in multiple events and showing growth with each outing.
At the meet in Crofton on Monday, April 13, Kooper Gubbels led the way w ith a score of 88, earning an impressive fifth-place finish among the field.
Teammate Meagan Wagner carded a 112, while Dawson Gansebom rounded out the group with a 127. Despite challenging conditions, the team gained valuable experience on the course.
The squad returned home Tuesday, April 14, for a triangular at Rolling Hills Golf Course, where performances took a notable step forward. Gub bels delivered one of his strongest rounds of the week, firing a 39 to secure second place overall. Dawson Gansebom improved significantly with a 54, while Meagan Wagner shot a 64. Nickolas Kumm also contributed with a round of 78, helping round out a solid team showing on their home course.
The week concluded Thursday,April 16, at Laurel, with another competition, where Gubbels posted an 89 and Gansebom finished with a 114, continuing to build consistency as the season progresses.
Across the three events, the team demonstrated resilience and steady im provement, highlighted by Gubbels' top-five finish at Crofton and runner-up performance at the home triangular. As the season continues, the group looks to build on this momentum and further lower their scores in upcoming meets.
