(By Regina Lorenz, Osmond Republican) OSMOND — The 2026 Osmond High School Alumni Committee has announced plans for this year's alumni reunion, which will be held Saturday, June 27.
Invitations were sent via email last week for those who have provided email addresses, with physical invitations being sent out this week. Alumni are urged to check their emails so they don't miss seeing the invitation. They email will come from the following address: [email protected].
The theme for the 36th biennial Osmond High School reunion is “Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger.” It celebrates the pride and connection that alumni share. Everyone is asked to be sure to wear orange and black to the reunion.
Commander Katie Erwin to Be Speaker
Guest speaker for the evening will be Commander Katie A. Erwin. Commander Erwin is a native of Osmond, the daughter of Rod and Rhonda Erwin, and a 2004 graduate of Osmond High School. She was the speaker at the OHS Veterans Day program in 2021.
Erwin earned her bachelor of science degree in history from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, in 2008 and was selected for Naval Aviation. Katie received her “Wings of Gold” and was designated a Naval Aviator in 2010. She has traveled the world through her service and various leadership roles in the United States Navy.
Program Highlights
Honored classes this year will be the 25-year classes (2000 and 2001), the 50-year classes (1975 and 1976), the 60-year classes (1965 and 1966), and the 70-year classes (1955 and 1956).
In addition to recognizing the honored alumni classes, the program will feature the newest Athletic Hall of Fame inductees, along with other special highlights.
The schedule of events includes a coffee and cocktail social hour at 3:30 p.m.; Swiss steak dinner catered by Traveling Tiger Tavern at 5:30 p.m., and the program and honors at 6:30 p.m.
Other Weekend Activities
The Chrome and Smoke Truck Show will kick off the weekend, featuring live music by the band “Kancho” on Friday night, June 26, and country music artist Tim Zach on Saturday night, June 26. Both performances will take place at the baseball field and are free to attend.
There will be a parade on Sunday, June 27, at 1 p.m. on State Street.
Alumni Committee Members The 2026 OHS Alumni Committee members include Chris Schmit (Class of 2012), Brianna (Kumm) Schmit (2013), Evan Timmerman (2008), Jennifer (Ekberg) Hodson (1999), Richard Hodson (1998), Ryan Buchanan (1995), Kelli (Kumm) Buchanan (1994), Pam (Bahr) Buchholz (1986), Jackie (Johnson) Hitz (1981), Doug Johnson (1975), and Barb (Geiger) Johnson (1977).
Anyone who would like to volunteer or nominate someone to be on the next alumni committee is asked to let one of the current committee members know, as the 2028 committee will be announced at this year's reunion.
The alumni committee continues to seek out class representatives who are willing to keep the contact information of classmates up-to-date. Those interested in helping out with this effort moving forward are asked to email [email protected] and let them know.
