LAUREL — Osmond High School vocal and instrumental students excelled at the District Music Contest in Laurel on Friday, April 24. Twenty groups or individuals received a Superior (1) or highest rating, with two — the concert band and the jazz band — receiving 1+ ratings, meaning that all three judges gave them superior ratings. Seventeen entries received an Excellent (2) rating. Schools in attendance at the music contest in addition to Os- mond included Bloomfield, Cedar Catholic, Crofton, Elkhorn Valley, Hartington-Newcastle, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Neligh-Oakdale, Plainview, Randolph, Wausa and Wynot.
Osmond had 37 entries in the contest this year.
Osmond High School music director Christalin Ginn commented, “It was a great day! I am so proud of all the music they shared. We had so many great performances, and I think we had fun too, and that is what matters most. I am always grateful to serve these hardworking students who make music-making a priority, no matter the final judges' score.”
