BOARD OF EQUALIZATION PROCEEDINGS

April 27, 2026 The Pierce County Board of Equalization met pursuant to adjournment on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. with the following members present: John Steinkraus, Brad Albers and Carl Martinson. Co. Clerk Shannon Wragge, Co. As- sessor Jean Lubke, Mike Mayfield, David Levy, Shelli Meyer, Hersel Hicks, EMS Bobbi Risor and News Reporter Randee Falter were present.

Notice of the meeting was given in advance as shown by the Certificate of Publication on file in the County Clerk's office. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice of the meeting. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the public. Chairman Albers called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and presided. Chairman Albers stated that the Open Meetings Act is posted on the north wall of the board room with more copies available at the County Clerk's office.

Motion by Steinkraus, seconded by Martinson, to approve the agenda. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

The minutes of April 13, 2026, were approved as printed.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to approve 2 Demands for Refund pertaining to Tax List Correction #952 (refund of $783.96) and #953 (refund of $521.48). Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

There being no further business, Chairman Albers adjourned the meeting at 9:02 a.m. and will meet again at a regular meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. as County Board of Equalization, said meeting is open to the public. Shelli Meyer with Bold NE was present to give an update to the County Board on the Summit Carbon Solution Pipeline.

Hwy Supt. Brian McDonald, Deputy Co. Sheriff Dan Hallock, David Levy and Hersel Hicks with Nextera/Blattner Solar Farm were all present to discuss with the County Board the road issues and vehicle accident due to dust on 546 Ave/849 Rd by the solar farm.

Hwy Supt. Brian McDonald discussed upcoming road and bridge projects.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to approve and authorize Clerk to advertise for upcoming paint stripping project for certain hard surfaced roads in the county. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Zoning Adm. Heather McWhorter pre sented to the Board the Walter Aschoff Lotsplit II – 10.54 acres in pt SW ¼ 27-28-2.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to approve the Walter Aschoff Lotsplit II, 10.54 acres in pt of the SW ¼ Section 27, Township 28 North, Range 2 West, Pierce County, NE. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Chris Sayers with NE Cat stepped into meeting to introduce himself to the County Board.

Board discussed the bid quotes received from 3 companies to replace the cement around the courthouse that is breaking up: Aschoff Construction Inc, Osmond, $38,059.46; LaCreme Construction, Walthill, $28,235.00 and Wragge Construc- tion Inc, Plainview, $22,297.41.

Motion by Steinkraus, seconded by Albers, to approve and accept the bid from Wragge Construction Inc, Plain- view, for $22,297.41. Roll call vote: Aye: Steinkraus, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Motion by Albers, seconded by Steinkraus, to approve and to audit and allow the following claims presented for payment and instructed the County Clerk to issue checks for payment of same on the various funds. Roll call vote: Aye: Kuether, Albers and Martinson. Nay: None. Motion carried.

There being no further business, Chairman Martinson adjourned the meeting at 10:10 a.m. and will meet again at a regular meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 9:10 a.m. as County Board of Commissioners, said meeting is open to the public.
