PIERCE COUNTY —As election day on Tuesday, May 12, approaches, there are a number of candidates to consider for several offices in Pierce County.

Two candidates are running for county commissioner of District 3. They are Carl Martinson and Brandon Wagner, both of Pierce.
The other position that is being contested is that of Pierce County Sheriff. Incumbent Sheriff Rick J. Eberhardt of Pierce is running, as are Daniel Hal -
lock of Plainview and Josh Bauermeister of Pierce.
Information about each of the candidates for county commissioner and sheriff positions is included in this issue.
There are no contested seats in Osmond that will be on the primary election ballot. There are four people running for Osmond city council in a vote-for- two situation; however, in order for a local race to be on the primary ballot, there needs to be one more than twice the number of candidates running to fill the vacancy/vacancies. Therefore, the Osmond city council decision will be made at the general election in November.
Polls open for the primary election on Tuesday, May 12, at 8 a.m., and will close at 8 p.m.
