7-12 girls’ choir and guests sang “Holding Out For A Hero”

OSMOND — The Osmond Community School elementary and high school students held their spring concerts on Thursday, April 30, celebrating not just the superheroes in the movies, but the superheroes among us.

Elementary Concert

In the elementary concert, the fifth grade band started things off with “Heroes And Glory,” “Attack Of The Mighty” and “The Hammer Of Thor.” This was followed by the sixth grade band’s performance of “Superheroes R Us” and “The Metschke March,” which pays tribute to band teacher Nate Metschke.

The fourth grade students began their band music careers by playing “Ode To Joy,” “Lightly Row” and “B A Superhero” on the recorders.

The kindergarten class sang “Friends And Fans” and then performed with colorful scarves to "Superhero Music." The first grade students joined them to sing “Thank You To Our Veterans” and then the first graders gave their own performance with colored streamers for “Superhero Music.”

The first, second and third grade paid tribute to all those who “Work With Your Hands,” and then the second and third grades sang “To The Helpers” and “SuperHero.”

Fifth and sixth graders sang the song, “Go The Distance,” and then were joined by the fourth grade for “Theme From Spider Man” and “Hero.”

The whole elementary student body then came together for the A NIGHT OF MUSIC AND SUPERHEROES Pops Concert

The junior high and high school girls started off the Pops Concert with a bang as they were joined by their guests for a fun song, “Holding Out For A Hero.”

The junior high choir sang three songs: “Try Everything;” “Die With A Smile,” which had solos by Tucker Thelen, Chloe Mendlik and Aubrey Erickson, and “Counting Stars.”

The 7-12 mass choir sang “Ordinary,” followed by the high school choir with “What About Us” and “Stay.”

The junior high kicked off the band portion of the night with “You’re Welcome” and “Believer,” and then were joined by members of the high school band, gathering in the four corners of the gym as they “assembled” with an awesome rendition of “Avengers.”

“Spiderman: No Way Home,” “Golden” and “How To Train Your Dragon” were performed by the high school band before the 7-12 mass band once again came together for the finale of the evening, a fantastic performance of “Top Gun.”
