The kindergarten, first, second and third grade students and instructors en - joyed an educational field trip on Thursday, May 7, to Kreycik Buffalo Ranch and Niobrara State Park, where they spent the day learning about wildlife and nature. William Ryan and Principal Kurt Polt drove the buses and partook in the fun-filled activities as well.
During the visit to the buffalo ranch, students learned many interesting facts about bison and even tried bison sticks! They had the opportunity to observe the ranch’s smaller “runts,” pet real bison fur, and examine a bison skull up close. Students also participated in a fun trivia game that tested their listening skills and knowledge about the animals.
The trip also took part in Niobrara State Park, where students explored the outdoors on a hike through the park’s terrain. Along the trail, students observed a variety of wildlife and natural features, including birds, ants, various tree species, and even bald eagles soaring overhead. The hike allowed students to experience nature firsthand while learning about the environment around them.
The field trip provided students with a memorable day of hands-on learning
and exploration outside the classroom.
