Gubbels represents OHS well at state golf

Kooper Gubbels represented his school well at the Nebraska State Golf Tournament, held at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus on Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, posting rounds of 90 and 88 over the two-day event.

Competing against some of the state's top golfers, Gubbels showed deter mination and perseverance throughout the tournament. After opening with a 90 in the first round on Wednesday, he improved by two strokes on Thursday, carding an 88 to finish his state tournament experience on a positive note.

Gubbels' two-round total placed him in a tie for 46th place out of 101 golf - ers in the state tournament field, an impressive accomplishment considering the level of competition he faced.

While the scores may not have reflected all of Gubbels' goals for the season, earning a trip to the state tournament was an accomplishment in itself and a testament to the hard work he put in throughout the year.

Head Coach Dante Schmit praised Gubbels for the way he handled the challenge of competing on the state stage.

'Although the scores weren't exactly what Kooper wanted, he did show resolve in his game and made us coaches proud by earning this opportunity,' said Coach Schmit.

Gubbels' appearance at state capped off a successful season and provided valuable experience competing against the best golfers in Nebraska. His determination and commitment throughout the year helped him earn the opportunity to play at Quail Run Golf Course, one of the state's premier championship venues.

The future remains bright for Gubbels as he looks to build on this experi ence and continue developing his game in the seasons ahead.
