Faye M. Wangstrom

Funeral services for Faye M. Wangstrom, 94, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory in Yankton with Pastor Steve Weispfennig of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Yankton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Osmond at approximately 1:30 p.m. Online condolences may be given at: www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com. Mrs. Wangstrom passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2023, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton. Faye, daughter of Willie and Christina (Kube) Gansebom, was born at the family farm south of Osmond on Dec. 5, 1929. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. Faye attended country school, Immanuel Lutheran School, and Osmond High School, graduating with the Class of 1947. She attended Wayne State College for a teaching certificate.
